Upholstery Fabrics in Sydney – Built Around How You Live
At Leisure Lounges, the fabric you choose is just as important as the lounge design. It affects how your sofa looks, feels, wears over time, and how healthy your home environment is.
We specialise in upholstery fabrics in Sydney that actually suit real life – from kid-and-pet-proof performance fabrics to natural Linia blends, vegan leathers and recycled options. Every lounge is handcrafted in our Sydney factory and upholstered in the fabric you choose.
Whether you’re worried about stains, allergies, pets, or sustainability, we’ll help you pick a fabric that works for how you actually live, not just how the photos look.
Your Fabric Options at Leisure Lounges
When you visit our showroom, we’ll talk through the main categories:
- Performance and stain-resistant fabrics (including FibreGuard) for busy family rooms, home theatres and commercial spaces
- Linia natural-fibre and natural-blend fabrics for a breathable, relaxed and more natural feel
- Vegan leathers for a leather look without animal products
- Recycled and eco-certified fabrics for lower environmental impact and low-tox homes
You don’t need to know all the technical names. You just tell us who’s using the lounge, how often, and what you like the look of. We’ll narrow the fabrics down and keep you away from anything that won’t last.
Performance Fabrics and FibreGuard – Made for Real Life
If you’ve got kids, pets, guests and Netflix marathons, performance sofa fabrics are usually the smartest move.
FibreGuard and other modern performance fabrics are engineered to resist everyday spills and stains. Most marks come off with water and a mild soap – no panic, no harsh chemicals, no white vinegar “hacks” off TikTok.
With performance fabrics you get:
- Easy cleaning – most everyday spills blot and wipe straight off
- High durability – perfect for high-traffic family rooms and media rooms
- A soft, comfortable feel – not the stiff, plastic-feeling fabrics people remember from years ago
If you want a fabric lounge but don’t want to stress about it, this is where we’ll start.
Linia Natural-Fibre Fabrics – Relaxed, Breathable, Low-Tox
For customers who prefer a more natural feel and a softer, relaxed look, we love the Linia range.
Linia is built around natural fibres and blends – think linen, cotton and other plant-based yarns – woven into beautiful upholstery fabrics with real texture and depth. They’re designed to feel organic and lived-in, not shiny or synthetic.
Why people choose Linia fabrics for their lounges:
- More breathable and comfortable across the seasons
- Soft, organic textures that sit well with timber floors and natural interiors
- Lower-tox options, with many qualities available under strict textile safety standards
- A relaxed, timeless look that doesn’t date quickly
If you like the feel of our Serene Sofa or you’re chasing that calm, textural, “grown-up” lounge room, we’ll show you the Linia books first.
Vegan Leather and Recycled Fabrics
Not everyone wants traditional leather. If you’re after something cruelty-free, easier to wipe or just more budget-conscious, we can show you:
- Vegan leather options with a modern, leather-look finish
- Recycled and eco-certified fabrics using repurposed fibres and low-tox finishes
These are good choices if you want a cleaner conscience without giving up durability or style.
Are Fabric Lounges Pet-Friendly?
Short answer: they can be, if you pick the right fabric.
For homes with dogs and cats we usually recommend:
- Tightly woven fabrics that resist snagging
- Performance fabrics like FibreGuard for easy cleaning
- Mid-tone colours and subtle textures to hide fur and everyday marks
When you come in, tell us about your pets and how they behave. We’ll be brutally honest about which fabrics will cope and which ones will get destroyed.
Fabric vs Leather – Which Is Right for You?
Both have their place:
Fabric lounges:
- Softer and warmer to sit on
- Available in a huge range of colours and textures
- Often better value on big modulars
Leather and vegan leather:
- Very easy to wipe clean
- Great for a formal or contemporary look
- Excellent if you want something that doesn’t hold dust in the same way as fabrics
We’ll show you both options side by side, so you can feel the difference and decide what suits your home, your body and your tolerance for cleaning.
